Mike graduated from the Naval Academy with a BS in Applied Mathematics in 1988, then spent five years on active duty as a contract and project manager. Subsequently, he obtained a Master of Science in Operations Research from Georgia Tech, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan. He spent 25+ years in corporate leadership positions at Ford Motor Company and its’ part subsidiary Visteon, as well as at Genworth Financial.
Mike currently serves as the Fractional CFO for one family business having six companies, and also for two other companies. He is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, debt structuring, mergers & acquisitions, and bank relationships for these clients. He has served as a Fractional CFO since late 2019.
Previously, Mike was Vice President, Finance at Genworth, managing a team of 17 people in structuring and administering reinsurance contracts and managing domestic and international captive insurance companies. Mike has extensive experience in team leadership, financial planning and analysis, contract administration, and program management.
His experience also includes progressive leadership and management responsibilities in executing complex projects and performing financial, strategic, and operational analyses.
Mike is TTI certified in Behaviors, Driving Forces, DNA and TriMetrix HD. His primary consulting focus is as a Fractional CFO, but also provides business, career and executive coach, strategic planning and employee development through communications, leadership and teamwork workshops.
Mike is married with two children. He lives in Mount Pleasant, SC and is a member of Seacoast Community Church.
